Halli Hallo meine Lieben...

 

..aus gegebenem Anlass - dem Amoklauf in Newtown, Connecticut - könnte Platz 8 meiner Christmas Charts nicht passender sein:

"Auld Lang Syne" - in folgendem Video - in der Version von Mairi Campbell & Dave Francis

(aus den Filmen "Ist das Leben nicht schön?" von 1946, "Sex and the City - Der Film" von 2008 & "Happy New Year" von 2011)

 

Und es passt deshalb so gut weil,

Auld Lang Syne - Scots, englisch wörtlich old long since, sinngemäß "längst vergangene Zeit" -

ist eines der bekanntesten Lieder im englischsprachigen Raum. Dort wird es traditionsgemäß zum Jahreswechsel gesungen, um der Verstorbenen des zu Ende gegangenen Jahres zu gedenken.

Der deutsche Titel lautet "Nehmt Abschied, Brüder".

Auf das die USA nun endlich mal aufwachen und etwas an den Waffen-Gesetzen ändern - es wird Zeit und zwar allerhöchste - sowas darf einfach nicht mehr passieren!!!
